Collapse of Icelandic bank fuels group claim
Gregg Latchams Litigation partner Richard Gore is currently acting for about 30 individuals who have lost significant amounts of money as a result of the collapse of Icelandic bank Kaupthing Singer & Friedlander.
On the back of an initial instruction by an existing client, Richard has been instructed by individuals based in the UK and all over the world to recover monies deposited in the Isle of Man branch of Kaupthing Singer & Friedlander.
The case is proving to be a challenging and rewarding experience for Richard and his team, who originally received over 120 enquiries. Richard said: 'This is a challenging and unique case where the UK government invoked anti-terror law to freeze Icelandic assets, in turn resulting in the collapse of the bank in both London and the Isle of Man. There are legal and political negotiations going on which hopefully will result in a successful resolution for my clients as soon as possible.'
