Environmental award for Gregg Latchams

Our green credentials were recognised with a prestigious industry award when we were named joint winner of the Environmental and Legal Sector Alliance Award, alongside Burges Salmon. Partner Paul Hardman picked up the award at Bristol Law Society Annual Awards 2011, which took place on 14 October at Brunel’s Old Station in the city.

In the firm

Judges were particularly impressed with Gregg Latchams commitment to promoting environmental issues, both within the firm and across the region. This includes committing to reducing our carbon footprint by 10 per cent by 2012 under the West of England Carbon Challenge, as well as commissioning a report to highlight improvements to our offices and changes in working practices to reduce overall energy consumption.

In the community

Externally, Gregg Latchams hosts environmental networking events to discuss and promote the wider green issues, as well as spearheading the Queen Square Initiative, which aims to make Queen Square an area where energy, water and waste is used efficiently and costs and carbon emissions are reduced.

Supporting environmental business

The firm also has considerable expertise in dealing with environmental businesses, such as Liberty Electric Cars.

Paul Hardman, who heads the firm’s ‘green’ team, said: “I am absolutely delighted that we have jointly won this award. As a firm, we have worked hard to champion green issues, both internally and across the South West, so it is wonderful to have these efforts recognised.”
