Gregg Latchams' experts to address employment law seminar

Employment law experts from Bristol-based solicitors firm Gregg Latchams will provide business owners with an insight into how recent changes in legislation will affect them at a forthcoming free seminar.

Partner John Dalby, who heads the firm’s Corporate & Commercial and Employment departments, and solicitor Colin Foote, who specialises in employment law, will address delegates at the event, which takes place on Tuesday, 27 September.

Issues covered at the seminar will include the Equality Act 2010 and the scrapping of the default retirement age. John and Colin will also look ahead to some of the forthcoming changes, as well as answering questions from attendees.

The event, which is being hosted by Mangotsfield-based chartered accountancy firm Copson Grandfield, takes place at Cleve RFC, in Cossham Street, Mangotsfield. The evening starts at 6pm with registration and refreshments, with the seminar itself beginning at 6.30pm and concluding at 8pm.

John Dalby said: “When you are trying to concentrate on running your own business, it can be difficult to keep up with changes in legislation. However, not knowing your rights and obligations as an employer could prove costly if you find yourself on the receiving end of legal action.

“This past year has seen some significant changes in employment law which every employer needs to be aware of. This seminar will provide an excellent opportunity for employers to find out how these changes affect them and what action they need to take to ensure they continue to comply with current legislation.”
