Ed is a solicitor in the firm’s Commercial Property department and qualified at Gregg Latchams in September 2009.
He undertakes a wide range of freehold and leasehold property work and has particular expertise in acting for commercial landlords, business tenants and the trustees of Self Invested Personal Pensions (SIPPs) and Small Self Administered Schemes (SSASs) in relation to property transactions involving pension funds.
Ed’s recent experience includes:
- acting for the trustees of a SSAS in purchasing an office block subject to tenancies from the employer company for £1.5 million;
- acting for the trustees of a SIPP in purchasing a share of a portfolio of properties from a related party and entering into a co-ownership trust agreement;
- advising the owner of a prestigious new office development in relation to setting up their letting structure;
- acting for a regional building supplies merchant in relation to taking a ten-year lease with an agreement for lease conditional on landlord’s works and an option to purchase the freehold; and
- acting for a regional company in refinancing their business and resecuring their assets to the bank.
Ed studied at the universities of Birmingham, Exeter and West of England and spent a year studying at the University of California – Santa Cruz as part of his undergraduate degree programme.
