Asset Disputes

Our asset dispute team deal with:

  • property ownership and trusts of land
  • shareholder and company disputes
  • partnership and LLP disputes
  • variation of restrictive covenants preventing the development of land

We act in disputes of varying size and complexity relating to the ownership of land and the split of individuals’ shares in the property.

Our advice on shareholder and company disputes includes acting for and against minority shareholders claiming unfair prejudice and in claims by shareholders and companies where directors’ duties have been breached or the company’s assets misappropriated.

We have equivalent experience and expertise in handling partnership and LLP disputes.

Land is often subject to restrictive covenants which may restrict its development potential.  These covenants can be varied by agreement or by application to the Lands Tribunal.  We have substantial expertise in this field.

In complex financial litigation it is critical for me to be able to talk direct to the partner in charge. Gregg Latchams provides me with this approach. In my professional career as an investment banker I worked extensively with all the major London and New York law firms, so I do have high expectations here. In essence, I don't want a lawyer who tells me what I want to hear, I want a lawyer who tells me the right answer.
