Gregg Latchams Bristol offices have been supporting Missing Link throughout the months of April and May by donating Easter eggs and towels in support of families suffering from both physical and psychological issues.
Missing Link is a mental health and housing service for women in Bristol, which was established in 1982 to provide a range of housing and support to women that either have acute or long term mental health needs. Missing Link strive to create a culture that encourages and values everyone’s differences and promotes mutual respect and shared understanding.
They support women who are homeless, who have a history of sleeping rough, or whose housing is at risk because of their mental health issues. Missing Link contains several interconnected services; by donating hundreds of Easter eggs, Gregg Latchams were able to assist with three of those services:
- shared housing – supporting homeless women with mental health needs and often, other complex support needs
- floating support service –supporting women in their own homes who have mental health needs
- Outreach Service – actively engaging and supporting homeless women on the streets who have mental health needs
The towels were used in their shared housing schemes, where Missing Link provide fully furnished homes and bedding. Some residents arrive with very little and towels are always required.
Jenny Milsom, Senior Service Manager at Missing Link said, “We are very grateful for the support from Gregg Latchams for helping us to support some of the most vulnerable women in our city”
Ewen Macgregor, Associate Director at Gregg Latchams added “Missing Link provides a really strong support network for women in Bristol to get access to not only the help that they need but also shelter and safety. These services are hugely important and have a real impact on our community. I am delighted that Gregg Latchams has been able to assist them.”
The service is works with women aged 16 and over and will support people for up to one year in the first instance. For information on how to refer someone to Missing Link, click here.
