GL talks to B24/7 about Bristol’s thriving legal sector

Three Gregg Latchams experts have been featured in a recent article by Bristol 24/7 as part of their spotlight on Legal Services. The B24/7 article explores the challenges, and the future, of legal services, describing GL as “one of the city’s major players with offices on Queen Square, as well as in London”.

Our Director of Commercial Dispute Resolution, Richard Gore is at the centre of the GL business with a 360º strategic view. Richard comments that “the legal sector is facing ongoing challenges in the form of other businesses doing more legal work as part of their core business”. Richard further notes that “I see this is as an opportunity for law firms to innovate and pursue opportunities”. GL is recognised as an innovator in its approach to services and GL Law is complimented by two sister companies: a financial services company GLIFP and a business consultancy GLBC. This is just one of the ways in which we provide a holistic service to our clients.

Heledd Wyn, our experienced Private Client Solicitor, Associate Director and Head of Long Term Elderly Care comments that the key to success in the legal profession is “maintaining relationships with clients and other professionals”. Heledd seeks to be the “go-to person for specific work due to her specialist knowledge and skills” in order to provide ‘great value’ for her clients. Heledd’s passion for ensuring that her clients receive the best possible care is well aligned with her key relationships as a trustee of BRACE and their valuable work in defeating dementia.

Jen Pollock, our Family Associate Solicitor specialises in guiding her clients through the difficult time of relationship breakdown. Jen comments on the challenges of the financial cuts to legal services, noting that “divorces have to be dealt with in Southampton rather than Bristol” and this ultimately causes “increased wait times for hearings and for court documents to be processed and orders received”.

At GL we recognise the increasing challenges for law firms and lawyers and believe our goal is to ensure that client experience is not impacted as a result. Our continuous focus on client care puts our clients at the heart of everything we do.
