On the 12th November, we hosted our latest Construction Breakfast at the Watershed.
Over 80 people from the construction industry in and around Bristol gathered to eat breakfast, network, share insights, discuss the future of the city and hear about Stride Treglown’s ‘53rd Big Idea for Bristol’.
Stride Treglown’s ‘52 Big Ideas for Bristol’ is a collection of creative and quirky ideas to make the city more sustainable, spark imagination and drive positive change which were inspired by Bristol Green Capital of Europe in 2015 and the events we held during the annual Business Green Week. These big ideas are ways to reduce pollution, congestion and wasted energy by offering greener alternatives, as well as smaller, fun ideas to bring communities together.
The 53rd Big Idea was no exception as the team looked at Castle Park, which 100 years ago was a commercial hub for the city, with densely packed housing and commercial enterprises rubbing shoulders. Now it needs some love, and that is what Stride Treglown brought as they reimagined the space, going up and out with buildings, green space, cafes, indoor and outdoor fun and even a beach, creating a hub of excitement, play and activity for all ages in the heart of the city.
Stride Treglown Director and Head of the Bristol Office John Wright said; “We were delighted to present our 53rd Big Idea for Bristol at Gregg Latchams’ Construction Breakfast event this month. This well organised event drew an informed and well connected group together, and we received a warm welcome and great feedback.”
David Morris, Head of Construction at Gregg Latchams, said; “Thank you to all who came and to Stride Treglown for presenting such a creative and inspiring idea which sparked our imaginations and a great follow-up discussion. The momentum on these breakfasts continues to grow; it is brilliant to be such a part of the current conversations in the Bristol construction industry around development and shaping Bristol for the future, as well as the contracts governing some of our local developments.”
